See now, I can't get.

McConnell told The Associated Press on Wednesday the gender gap "clearly is wider than it used to be".

He cited the Republicans' thin, 51-49 Senate majority.

"It's a great frustration", he said.

"Those who believe that Bill Clinton should never have been impeached for allegedly lying about his sex life are now going to lead the campaign to impeach Kavanaugh for allegedly lying about his sexual and drinking activities back when he was a 17-year-old?" Kavanaugh strongly denied the allegations and is now on the Supreme Court.

The Iowa Republican said that's only fair since the Senate would not consider then-President Barack Obama's nomination of Merrick Garland in 2016.

Mr Kavanaugh's elevation to the high court had been considered safe until California university professor Christine Blasey Ford went public with explosive allegations that he had sexually assaulted her in 1982, while they were in high school.

Kanye West Scheduled To Meet With Trump, Jared Kushner At White House
There is an endless buzz around Kanye West's conversion to MAGA hats, free speech, and meetings with President Trump in the White House.

Kavanaugh replaces Kennedy, a conservative jurist who often cast the deciding swing vote on ideologically divisive issues, upholding abortion and gay rights and the use of affirmative action aiding racial minorities in college admissions.

The GOP leader also split from Trump to defend Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.).

McConnell responded, "I'm not changing anything".

The Iowa audience responded to Trump's claim by chanting, "Lock her up!"

Seventy-two percent (72%) of voters who are Very Angry about the treatment of Kavanaugh are more likely to vote in the upcoming elections.

During a speech in Florida earlier on Monday, Mr Trump denounced the accusations against Mr Kavanaugh as "a hoax" perpetrated "by people that are evil".

But in her statement explaining her vote, she said that although she thought Kavanaugh was a "good man", she "could not conclude that he is the right person for the court at this time". "So, this business of presidential harassment may or may not quite be the victor they think it is".

Kavanaugh steps away from being confirmed as US Supreme Court judge
She said she would vote to move Kavanaugh's nomination forward, which was met with screaming and accusations by protesters. That gave him enough Senate support to win confirmation after a bitter, partisan battle.

The jurist had already been officially sworn in Saturday soon after the Senate voted 50-48 to confirm his appointment. He said that "while many came to Washington peacefully to share their stories", that far left activists were the "loudest voices".

"In just four weeks, you will have the chance to render your verdict on the Democrats' outrageous conduct", he added.

He renewed one of his favorite nicknames, calling Sen.

McConnell, aware of the significant chance Democrats have of regaining control of the House, said they could face backlash in 2020 if they abuse their power in 2018 and 2019. Lindsey Graham has been the subject of speculation about the job, but Graham said this week he has no interest.

Asked by a reporter about the possibility that Democrats could "launch many, many investigations into the President and the administration", McConnell said, "I think it will help the president get re-elected".

McConnell wouldn't say whether the Senate would insist that Sessions' replacement would protect special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation.
