SpaceX, Elon Musk's ambitious rocket endeavor, said Monday it had signed a Japanese billionaire as its first paying private citizen to travel to the moon. "That doesn't mean it won't happen", said retired NASA astronaut Walter Cunningham. The internal layout of the ship will probably be more spartan for shorter trips to the Moon than for longer trips to Mars. He was the lunar pilot on the Apollo 7 mission.

The announcement was made at SpaceX's headquarters in Hawthorne, California, on Tuesday.

Musk says the BFR will act more like a sky diver than an airplane.

"I would caution against making too much of an announcement about a circumlunar flight", former NASA chief historian Roger Launius told the Daily Beast.

SpaceX has announced the identity of its first passenger to fly on its forthcoming BFR spacecraft, headed around the moon in 2023.

SpaceX exceeded everyone's expectations tonight by announcing that Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa bought not just one but all of the seats in a BFR mission to fly by the Moon.

In the meantime, we'll have to wait until March 8, 2019, to see Captain Marvel's first appearance on the big screen. With so much happening in the trailer , it's understandable if you didn't spend long looking at the poster.

Musk said. "We should have one and go there".

"I think it's a great day for everybody. It's another opportunity. Somebody is going to get that opportunity to be in space", Lamm said.

I would like to invite six to eight artists from around the world to join me on this mission to the Moon.

Shares in Tesla have had a turbulent time after the entrepreneur said in a tweet last month that he wanted to take the carmaker private. "So, I choose to go to the Moon with artists".

Musk said the billionaire will pay "a lot of money" for the lunar orbit but he declined to disclose the exact amount. In a place where company executives maintain low-key lifestyles and keep out of the spotlight, Maezawa is active on social media, sharing snippets from lavish meals or vacations, and is a regular name in entertainment publications.

It is the excitement of the space programme, he says, that gets him up in the morning. The only catch is that they create something to honor their time aboard the BFR and for the moon trip.

Clay Matthews is vexed -- like the rest of us -- by perplexing penalty
Instead, it resulted in the Packers' first tie since 2013 when Matt Flynn was the quarterback: a 26-26 tie against the Vikings. It's pretty obvious that the NFL and the league's referees have no idea how to implement the new rule protecting quarterbacks.

"If you hear from me, please say yes", he pleaded. "For me this project is very meaningful", Maezawa said at a news conference Monday. This makes easy for Zozotown's customers to fit into its clothes and has made the brand immensely popular.

After giving an update on the BFR's overall architectural changes (for which NASASpaceflight will publish an in-depth article later), Elon Musk, founder, CEO, and Lead Designer at SpaceX, introduced the person who purchased an entire BFR for a flight around the moon.

It consists of a massive rocket booster that promises to out-power any that has ever been built and a towering spacecraft, nicknamed BFS for Big Falcon Spaceship, that will vault out of the Earth's atmosphere.

Falcon Heavy's maiden flight was shown as part of SpaceX's evolution towards BFR.

The plan is to ready it for an unpiloted trip to Mars in 2022, with a crewed flight in 2024. "We're definitely not sure" about the 2023 schedule for the circumlunar mission, he said. "Maybe we'll both be on it". SpaceX hasn't yet launched any humans into space, though it has spent years working toward that goal. Initially, SpaceX had planned to use Falcon Heavy rockets to launch the crew, but the company has chose to use its newly designed Big Falcon Rocket which is now under construction.
