What's more, reports going back a few months relayed that Apple had plans to completely eliminate the 2017 iPhone X from its product line.

In a feature sought after by most users, Apple says it will add an extra hour and a half battery to the new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.

This applies to all the iPhone that are part of the 2018 lineup, including the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.

A Liquid Retina Display is a type of LCD display, now only found in the iPhone XR.

Canadian trade negotiators to brief PM Trudeau in person

CEO Tim Cook showed off the iPhone XS Max, which has a bigger screen than the one on last year's dramatically designed model, the iPhone X. It'll cost about $1,100, topping the iPhone X, which at $1,000 seemed jaw-dropping at the time.

The phone includes a 12MP dual lens camera with "smart HDR" with "zero shutter lag" thanks to its new processor, taking multiple frame shots at once, even of moving shots, to combine the pictures together to "merge them into one flawless photo".

This is Apple's biggest update to the Watch since it was first launched so there's a lot new here. The prices are relatively lesser than iPhone XS and iPhone XS which are available at starting price of Rs 99,900 and Rs 1,09,900. It comes with a enormous 6.5-inch screen, which really should qualify it as a small iPad. Also, with this launch, Apple has killed off last year's iPhone X, iPhone SE as well as the iPhone 6S series, its last models with a 3.5mm earphone jack.

Apple iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will be available in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB capacity models in space grey, silver and a new gold finish starting at Rs 99,900 and Rs 109,900, respectively, through Apple Authorised Resellers. The Max has a larger display than the usual Plus size phones but a similar body.

The iPhone XS's 5.8-inch display is bigger than the screen on the 8 Plus and features 2.7 million pixels and 458 ppi. A breakthrough 12MP camera system with Portrait mode, Portrait Lighting, enhanced bokeh, and all-new Depth Control. The screen supports tap to wake feature and Apple True Tone technology, which uses six-channel light sensor to subtly adjusts the white balance onscreen to match the colour temperature of the surrounding light. Instead of the impressive IP68 dust and water resistance rating that the XS range has, the iPhone XR will only have IP67, which is an global scale judging how water or dust resistant something is.

Mr Schiller said the iPhone XR was introduced to help Apple "reach as many customers as we can". The iPhone XS with its neural engine can take photos and portraits in more detail than ever before.
