Investigators executed the search warrant at Kate McClure and Mark D'Amico's Bordentown, New Jersey, home on Thursday, searching a black BMW parked in the driveway before loading it onto a flatbed truck and hauling it away, WPVI reported.

McClure and D'Amico raised the money starting late a year ago to buy Bobbitt, among other things, his own home and his "dream" truck: a 1999 Ford Ranger. Authorities were reportedly seen removing bags of items from the residence. (The trailer and auto, NPR reports, were not registered in Bobbitt's name.) Bobbitt claims the couple spent the remaining money on vacations and a new BMW.

On Thursday, authorities raided the couple's home, although the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office has not filed any criminal charges.

On Thursday morning, the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office and the Florence Township Police Department executed a search warrant at the couple's home.

The allegations were used as a basis for obtaining the search warrant, which generally requires a lesser standard of proof than an arrest warrant.

Last week, an attorney working free for Bobbitt filed a lawsuit seeking a court order to take the funds out of the couple's personal bank accounts.

Bobbitt's story went viral in late 2017 after he gave McClure his last $20 for gas, when she was stranded.

He claims he only received $75,000.

McClure and D'Amico also previously told Megyn Kelly on the "Today" show that they gave Bobbitt $25,000 and he blew through it in less than 13 days.

However, after an August 29 court proceeding, the couple reportedly failed to meet a 48-hour deadline a judge gave them to turn over any remaining funds to Bobbitt.

Chris Fallon, an attorney representing Bobbitt, told NBC Philadelphia this week that he was "shocked" and "appalled" to learn during a call with the couple's attorneys that the more-than $402,000 they raised was completely gone.

Johnny Bobbitt will get his money, even if his benefactors never pay up.

Heavy rain expected for Toronto starting Sunday night
Some stronger, even severe storms are possible through Saturday evening as high winds and heavy rains would be the main threats. That storm, Tropical Storm Ike, produced four to six inches of rain over two-thirds of IL , which led to flash flooding.

According to Philadelphia's WTXF-TV, Bobbitt is in a 30-day treatment program.

In court Wednesday, the couple's lawyer said Bobbitt has gotten about $200,000. "GoFundMe's goal has always been to ensure Johnny gets support he deserves", said the statement, which was emailed to reporters by Bobby Whithorne, director of North America Communications for GoFundMe.

The company also said it was cooperating with the investigation looking at what, exactly, Kate McClure and Mark D'Amico did with all the money that stemmed from a heartwarming story about an off-ramp rescue and soured into something much worse. He believed the couple used the remaining money on lavish vacations, a new BMW, and gambling, among other things.

The couple are also being sued by Bobbitt, the homeless man who was to receive the donations, which were made through a GoFundMe page.

He spent most of the summer back on the streets of Philadelphia, sleeping under a bridge near the spot where McClure's out-of-gas SUV sputtered to a stop last fall. Earlier this week, the organization gave Bobbitt $20,000 to assist him while his lawyers investigate the case. D'Amico told Bobbitt that he could get the money without it being put in a trust or without any stipulations on how it should be spent.
