The voice inside his head told him to take it, he said. Cruz said the voice would tell him to burn, kill and destroy.

Accused school shooter Nikolas Cruz describes the impending attack on Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in cellphone video released by prosecutors.

The newly released segment of the tape also reveals that Cruz claimed to have heard the voice of a demon in his head leading up to the shooting, which he said instructed him to "Burn".

However, the 217-page document is largely redacted. John Curcio of the Broward County Sheriff's Office that shortly before the Parkland massacre, he had planned to go to a park and start shooting people.

In response, Cruz reportedly said to the detective, "I don't like the demon", over and over. When the detective presses him as to why he's unsure, Cruz replies, "I don't deserve it".

Cruz, who described the voice as male and about his age, said it began after his father died about 15 years ago, but got worst when his mother died of pneumonia in November.

Maduro clamps down on opposition in wake of "assassination attempt"
Preliminary investigations have indicated to us that there are various financial backers of this attempt on my life. A live broadcast of the parade showed President Maduro looking confused after a bang went off.

The voice told him to buy the AR-15, he said, according to the transcript. Like, why? Like, we've. this is not who you are.

"I, personally, think you're using the demon as an excuse", the detective said. You could have stopped the demon by getting a prescription for Xanax.

The suspect argued, insisting Curcio was wrong.

Cruz was alone in the room at the time but the recorder was still going. "It's just regular me trying to be a good person". "Why didn't he kill me?" he repeated over and over. This is - don't even laugh at me.

The transcript also noted that Cruz also had talked to himself aloud about his own desire to die.

The suspect responded: "I'm sorry, dude". Cruz's attorneys have said he would plead guilty in exchange for a sentence of life without parole.

The aging metalheads were reluctant to leave the party so police had to send them home in a taxi, escorted by a police auto . Staff at the home in northern Germany raised the alarm after the men went missing on Friday night.

Cruz has been charged with 17 counts of first-degree murder and 17 counts of attempted first-degree murder.

"This statement is just more proof of how severely damaged and broken a human being he is", Howard Finkelstein, the Broward County public defender representing the suspect, wrote in an email Monday.

Cruz's statements about the shooting are blacked out, but the transcript is otherwise wide-ranging, dealing with the death of Cruz's parents, his penchant for killing animals, his former girlfriend, his brother, guns, suicide attempts and, especially, the voice.

Among the conclusions in the report, authored by the Collaborative Educational Network of Tallahassee, are two glaring instances in which Broward school officials failed to act in accordance with laws governing the treatment of students with disabilities.

Police released the transcript of his first interview with police on Monday evening. A judge ruled last month that noncofession portions should be made public.

Circuit Judge Elizabeth Scherer wrote in a July 26 order that "no substance of any confession that [Cruz] made to police during the instant interrogation is subject to public disclosure" - but she added that there were other parts of the statement "not considered" to be the substance of a confession.
