Missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 was likely steered off course by someone and was flown to the Southern Indian Ocean for seven hours after its communications were severed, according to a new report (pdf) published on July 30.

The plane's black boxes, which record flight data, have not been found.

And a second, private search by United States company Ocean Infinity that finished earlier this year also found no sign of the wreckage. "It has been established that the air turn back was done under manual control, not autopilot".

He added: "We can not exclude the possibility that there was unlawful interference from a third party".

Dr Kok Soo Chon, the lead investigator, told reporters at a press conference on the report that the men exhibited "no anxiety or stress". "We have examined the pilot and the first officer and we are quite satisfied with their background, with their training, with their mental health", he said.

"We are not of the opinion it could have been an event committed by the pilots", he said, but added they were not ruling out any possibility since the in-air turn back was done manually and the systems in the plane were also manually turned off.

He said police retrieved over 2,700 co-ordinates from various file segments found in Zaharie's home flight simulator.

Deadly Northern California wildfire rages largely unchecked
Bosenko said authorities are still looking for seven people after finding nine others who had been reported missing. About 260 National Guard soldiers and about 100 police officers were guarding evacuated homes, he said.

"So we feel that there's also one possibility that could account for all these ..."

"It is so disappointing", said Intan Maizura Othman, whose husband was a flight steward on MH370, which was flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing when it vanished in March 2014.

"The answer can only be conclusive if the wreckage is found", he said when asked of they would ever find out what happened on the plane.

"There must be a conclusion ..."

"No conclusions are drawn, no blame is assigned", said Grace Nathan, the daughter of one of the victims on the plane.

There has been speculation Ocean Infinity could resume the search as it remains in waters off the West Australian coast doing work for Woodside Energy.

The controls of the doomed Flight MH370 that disappeared four years ago were deliberately "manipulated" before it crashed into the sea, an global investigation has concluded.

This follows an exhaustive 495-page MH370 safety Investigation report which also detailed that the Malaysian air traffic controllers did not initiate the three emergency phases in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOP) in a timely manner.

Burrows, from Queensland, said she felt Malaysian authorities had "fumbled the whole investigation from the start" with delays and confusion.

"More importantly, I think it's a signalling device around the whole question of justice of fairness, of letting it be known there are costs involved when lives are lost".

"We need closure. I can't even tell my children what happened to their mother".

"It's such a terrible part of the ocean down there". 777 jet, though the main body of the aircraft hasn't been found. They concluded the plane was nearly certainly flown manually to wherever it hit the water.
