"I still feel that England, the motherland of football, should have a World Cup when it's the turn of Europe", said Blatter, pointing out that 1966 was a long time ago. "He should not be embarrassed because I am going to watch some matches", Blatter told reporters. "We spoke about football and the good start of the competition, the good start of the team".

Blatter is being investigated by Swiss prosecutors for alleged corruption during his 17-year reign as head of world football's governing body.

His appearance at the World Cup in Russian Federation is therefore potentially embarrassing for FIFA and its new head, Gianni Infantino, who has promised to draw a line under FIFA's corruption problems and clean up the organisation.

Nothing stops Blatter from buying a ticket or being invited to watch in a VIP area, and you didn't expect the notorious grifter to roll up to the box office.

Rashford, Lingard and Young star in England win over Tunisia
I'm so proud of the lads. "We were able to play head-to-head and a draw would have been an excellent result for us". But they were nearly made to pay for a succession of missed chances in the first half.

The Kremlin said Tuesday there are no plans for a meeting between Trump and Putin before the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit, Interfax reported.

Asked if he would use the influence he built up during his 17-year reign as Federation Internationale de Football Association boss to support a British bid, he said: "OK, I will use my influence, if England will accept my influence".

Blatter's presence in Russian Federation is awkward and a little embarrassing for sport's new leadership trying to rebuild its reputation after corruption-scarred years.

"I think you have to praise Russian Federation for the organisation of the World Cup". Germany, the 2014 World Cup winners, even lost.

England goes ballistic, posts record 481
By contrast, this was England's biggest victory in the format, topping their 210-run win against New Zealand at Edgbaston in 2015. D Arcy Short, Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell were the other bowlers who conceded at an economy rate of over 10.

"I'm here to enjoy the World Cup", Blatter said after arriving on Tuesday.

"There have been no concrete agreements or understandings, and no specific discussions are being conducted now", the spokesman said at the time.

"When and if we are ready, we will make the announcement", he said.

"Today's game brings to 1 million the number of fans who have already attended World Cup matches".

Of Carlson's comments, MacFarlane tweeted, "In other words, don't think critically, don't consult multiple news sources, and in general, don't use your brain".

"It is good to be a fan", Blatter said before posing for photographs with the laminated Fan ID card.
