England have broken the record for the highest score in ODI cricket with a brutal display of hitting against Australia, winning by 242 runs.

England posted the highest total ever scored in a men's one-day worldwide of 481 for six as they thrashed Australia by 242 runs at Trent Bridge on Tuesday to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in a five-match series.

Chasing a third straight win to clinch the five-match series with two games to spare, Eoin Morgan's side made a rapid start after being inserted, Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy sharing 159 for the first wicket in 19.3 overs.

By contrast, this was England's biggest victory in the format, topping their 210-run win against New Zealand at Edgbaston in 2015.

Canada votes to legalise cannabis for recreational use
On Wednesday, he tweeted, "It's been too easy for our kids to get marijuana - and for criminals to reap the profits". It sets out parameters around the production, possession, safety standards, distribution, and sale of marijuana.

Bairstow was eventually dismissed for 139 but remarkably he wasn't England's top scorer. The pair each took 92 balls to reach their scores.

On a day to forget for the bowlers, Richardson had the best figures, finishing with 3-92, who found himself on a hat-trick with the wickets of Hales and Morgan (67). D Arcy Short, Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell were the other bowlers who conceded at an economy rate of over 10.

England's Jonny Bairstow celebrates reaching his century against Australia. It was evident after the first over that the ball wasn't going to move. Lewis hasn't been seen in Australian colours since.

In addition to the bowlers being flayed to all parts of a ground where Australia were bowled out for 60 three years ago during the Ashes series, the batsmen once again flopped.

The Bayern Munich striker enjoyed a phenomenal campaign with his club and was his country's top scorer in the qualifications. Probably, Sadio Mane can be moved into a more central position as he offers more of a threat from the middle and is quicker.

The spinners in Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid have been hard nuts to crack for the Aussie and yesterday it wasn't any different as both shared seven wickets between them.

Speaking on Test Match Special, BBC cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew said: "This is a poor Australian side but they've been utterly dismantled".

It was Australia's heaviest defeat in 915 matches as the rampant hosts smashed a world record 6-481 against an under-strength attack.

Morgan hit six of them and, for good measure, went past Ian Bell as England's all-time record ODI runscorer.

Bailiff said the incident occurred in a "caged" area outside of a courthouse, and that there was no danger to the community. The prosecution chose to try the case for the second time , but the trial again ended in a hung jury.

The World Cup is less than a year away and Australia should be anxious by their performances this month. "Australia now joins a list that includes Bermuda, Namibia and Hong Kong, who have all lost one-day internationals by more than 240 runs".
