Sources Expect Bryan Colangelo To Lose Job With 76ers

  • Internet connects Twitter dots to Bryan Colangelo’s wife

NBC Sports Philadelphia's John Clark caught up with Colangelo at Philadelphia International Airport earlier in the day, where the front office exec maintained his innocence.

Colangelo found himself at the center of this freaky incident on Tuesday when The Ringer's Ben Detrick released a report that tied the Sixers' president to five Twitter accounts.

It has not been a good week for Bryan Colangelo.

Braden Holtby and The Save: ‘Thank God he’s our goalie’
The attendance number is the best of the team's three watch parties at the arena - with seats, again, filled in the 400 level. This team from Washington is an excellent hockey club, and obviously this series isn't going to go four games.

Colangelo told Yahoo Sports that he is "hopeful to resolve this soon". Citing league sources, ESPN stated team ownership is "flushed with embarrassment and anger" and characterized Colangelo's standing as "fighting for his professional life".

According to the ESPN report, ownership is considering dismissing Colangelo even as the internal probe into the use of anonymous Twitter accounts - or burner accounts - focuses on Colangelo's wife. The Sixers launched an investigation into the "serious" allegations. Throughout the investigation, ownership has shown little inclination to separate Colangelo's potential culpability with that of a close associate or family member.

The source added, unless the perpetrator made some mistakes, it would be hard to definitively prove who tweeted out the information. There could be a whole treasure trove out there of anonymous accounts sniping at Sam Hinkie, Joel Embiid, Markelle Fultz and others who the general manager of an National Basketball Association team (and his wife) should not be sniping at.

That effectively ruled him out of action until January 2019, and Guerrero was suspended by his Brazilian club, Flamengo. Check out a few tweets from jubilant Peruvians below.

Colangelo told Clark that he "stands by his (previous) statement" and is "fully unaware of anything" related to the scandal (see story).

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said ahead of Thursday night's Game 1 of the NBA Finals, via Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post, that he was going to wait for all of the facts to come out. He said in a statement that he used one of the accounts to monitor the National Basketball Association industry and other current events, but that he was "not familiar with any of the other accounts" brought to his attention and that he didn't know who was "behind them or what their motives may be in using them".

"I don't believe the story".

Stephen Curry insists LeBron James' Cavs teammates deserve more respect
I'm in the camp who believes LeBron James can bypass Micahel Jordan by doing something nobody believes can be done. If they were going to lose, it would have been in the Western Conference finals against the Houston Rockets .

According to The Ringer, one of the Twitter accounts it connected to Colangelo downplayed Hinkie's role in the franchise's turnaround. "That would just be insane".
