The Tribunal, Switzerland's supreme court, cited the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruling that Guerrero did not attempt to enhance his performance by ingesting the prohibited substance when they partially upheld his suspension as one of the reason's for their decision.

On Thursday, the Peruvian FA revealed that there will be a further appeal to the Swiss Federal Court, which will, at the least, delay any suspension until after the World Cup has taken place. Check out a few tweets from jubilant Peruvians below.

The court, the last course of appeal in the sporting judicial system, said it would consider the merits of the appeal itself once it had the full reasoned decision from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) which imposed the ban earlier this month.

That suspension was halved by Federation Internationale de Football Association after an appeal but CAS then extended it to 14 months after a request by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

The CAS will not object to the request for a stay. Aside from appealing and pleading his case, Guerrero also received support from players Peru will face this summer from the national teams of Australia, France and Denmark, while also getting support from stars like Luis Suarez.

CAS decided not to contest Guerrero's final appeal.
