  • The Intel Coffee Lake refresh is here, with 6-core mobile chips and mainstream mobos

Clearly, the idea with this processor was to bring desktop, hexa-core power to gaming laptops and prosumer devices.

The past eighth generation chips were a piece of the U-Series of Intel's processor while the recently reported i9, i7, and i5 Coffee Lake chips are the organization's H-arrangement lineup. Intel did not share any details on that front, so we'll have to wait for notebook makers to make their own announcements when they're good and ready. While its seventh-generation processors were not much improvement over their predecessor, the latest Intel chips, it appears, are here to change the game. It's called the Core i9-8950K and includes six cores (12 threads) and is manufactured using Intel's 14nm++ process technology. All Intel 8th Generation Core i5, i7 and i9 CPU's featuring Optane will carry a new Core i+ brand.

Notably, the Core i9-8950HK mobile processor is a 45W chip, the same thermal profile that current MacBook Pro models can accommodate.

On Monday, it was reported that Apple will cease using Intel processors in its Mac computers starting 2020. It features single-core Turbo Boost speeds that reach up to 4.8GHz, and as it's fully unlocked, buyers can overclock it to their heart's content. Chipzilla says this is the fastest laptop CPU it has ever built, offering "enthusiast level" performance to mobile gamers, virtual reality fans, and content creators.

Intel research shows that that in the US, China and the United Kingdom there are more than 50 million producers of digital content, and that number is set to grow. This will be the first release of i9 and 6 core CPUs for laptops.

The company along with its 8th Gen Core processors will also be bringing the new Intel Core platform extension along with the Intel Optane memory system accelerator to deliver great performance.

The Optane-fueled Data Drive Acceleration helps the secondary HDDs by boosting their load times. However, Intel's Coffee Lake chips are for the top computers.
