Mueller subpoenas Trump Organisation for Russian Federation documents

  • Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin testifies before the Senate Finance Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington. The Trump administration accused Russia on Thursday of a concerted ongoing operation to hack and spy on the U.S.

Special counsel Robert Mueller has subpoenaed the Trump Organization to turn over documents, including some related to Russian Federation, according to two people briefed on the matter.

The New York Times has also reported that Donald Trump's lawyers have advised him to refuse an interview with Mueller.

Mueller may be targeting documents related to Trump Organization proposals to build a Trump Tower skyscraper in Moscow in 2015, the reports said. It is unclear how much information is being requested, as well as why Mueller did not simply ask the organization to hand over the documents, according to the Times.

White House special counsel Ty Cobb had no comment. Trump has said he would view any investigation of his or his family's personal finances that didn't involve Russian Federation as a "violation" by Mueller that crosses a red line.

With three solid cornerbacks, there are little ways the Texans can move Fuller and Hopkins around to try to get a mismatch. If it's God-willing, he'll show that I can get more , but I'm very, very satisfied and happy for everything I've got.

Mueller already has indicted 13 Russians and three companies accused of meddling in the 2016 presidential campaign, and Thursday, the Trump administration included them in sanctions it leveled at Moscow as punishment for interference in the campaign and "malicious cyberattacks".

An attorney for the Trump Organization said in a statement to The Associated Press that the company has been "fully cooperative" with Mueller's investigation since July.

In an interview with "The New York Times" last summer, president Trump said the Special counsel would be crossing a red line if it expanded into an area related to Trump business dealings.

"This is old news and our assistance and cooperation with the various investigations remains the same today", said Alan Futerfas, who represents the company.

Mueller's investigators have been asking witnesses about Trump's business activities in Russian Federation prior to his presidential run, including an unrealized attempt for a Trump Tower in Moscow.

It's hard to believe that Trump's business activities have been completely above board, and Mueller is empowered to pursue "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation". But the President is insisting that he wants to as he reportedly believes that he has done nothing wrong.

The Trump Organization, which Trump ran with his family before he entered the White House, is an umbrella company including global real estate, hotel, and golf-course properties.
