Free agent CB Sherman to visit 49ers

  • Joe Mixon's next Bengals recruiting target is Richard Sherman reported that Sherman will take a physical with the 49ers Saturday to determine where he is in his recovery from an Achilles tendon injury suffered on November 9 against Arizona, a game that it appears will turn out to have been Sherman's last in a Seattle uniform.

Sherman is a three-time first team All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowl member, but he's coming off a ruptured Achilles in 2017 and he turns 30 in late March.

General manager John Lynch recently noted it doesn't take a "savant" to see the 49ers need cornerbacks.

In fact, The Athletic first reported that Sherman had dinner with 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan on Friday night.

Le Pen defended inviting Bannon, saying party members should listen to "the architect of Donald Trump's victory" in 2016. She also fell out with her former right-hand man Florian Philippot, who went on to form the rival Patriots party.

Sherman became a star in Seattle, bringing a brash attitude and willingness to speak out on any topic to go along with his stellar play. While people feel Sherman's skills have diminished a bit lately, he tweeted out some interesting statistics from last season after being released.

Yet, the 49ers are expected to be cautious when evaluating Sherman after an Achilles injury sidelined him for the final seven games last season.

But maybe Detroit's "preliminary interest" in Sherman signals that they're about to be more active in the veteran cornerback market than we thought.

Sherman's main surgery was completed by Dr. Robert Anderson, whose practice is located in Green Bay just around the corner from Lambeau Field.

Sherman has spent his entire career in Seattle.

After linebacker Malcolm Smith, now with the 49ers, intercepted the pass, Sherman gave Kaepernick the choke sign and mockingly extended a handshake to Crabtree. In 2013, Sherman led the National Football League with eight interceptions, and his 32 career picks rank sixth among active players.

The Seahawks have told Sherman they would be interested in talking to him about a new contract at less than the $11 million he was scheduled to make.
