The campaign theme continues all year with March 8 simply the kickoff for the campaign.

It was in 1917 that women were finally allowed the right to vote. Just four days post the protest, the provisional government granted suffrage rights to women.

This rally and subsequent march through Downtown Manhattan begins at 4 Washington Square Park to encourage "women and their allies to strike from all labor, both paid an unpaid for one hour".
