A woman was arrested in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand on Wednesday for posing as a man on social media and duping two other women to marry her to extort money.

In a rather freakish dowry-related case from Nainital, Uttarakhand, a woman pretending to be a man on Facebook chatted up two other women to marry them for dowry money, Hindustan Times reported.

In 2014, Sen and members of her family traveled to the town of Kathgodam to meet a 22-year-old woman that she had got in touch with on Facebook.

Krishna Sen was apprehended for demanding dowry - which is illegal in India.

Teva, Apple shares rip higher after Warren Buffett's Berkshire discloses investments
Well, IBM rallied a bit during the fourth quarter of 2017, and apparently that was enough to send Berkshire heading for the exits. Last month, Berkshire said it would work with Amazon .com and JPMorgan Chase & Co to create their own healthcare company.

Sen lured the woman into her trap by claiming she was the son of a CFL bulb businessman. The second woman had attended Krishna's first marriage as a guest.

Police said Sen created a Facebook account in the name of Krishna Sen in 2013 and uploaded photos posing as a man. As the two women got married, Sen allegedly started manhandling Kamini for dowry.

Sen, who hails from Dhampur in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested by the Haldwani police on Wednesday after her unique approach to get dowry money was foiled.

The Police registered a case of forgery against Sweety as she was not a husband legally so, can't go ahead with the dowry case, police said.

Chicago police commander gunned down in Loop pursuing a suspect
Bauer, who was downtown leaving training session, was shot after trying to help stop a man being pursued by tactical officers. A person has been charged in the shooting death of a Chicago Police officer who was killed Tuesday during a police chase.

Sen married another woman in April 2017, according to the BBC. The disguised man also allegedly took Rs 8.5 lakh from Kamini's family, according to a statement provided by the police.

Police said Ms Sen told them she had always wanted to be a boy and live a "man's life", adding that it was unclear if Ms Sen's parents were aware of what she had been doing.

"The girl from Kaladhungi came to know that Krishna was not a man, but she lured her to keep silent by promising her money".

A police official quoted Sen as having said that she dressed up as a boy since her childhood, and had cut her hair to look the part.

Kehinde Wiley, Barack Obama's portrait artist, painted black girls beheading white girls
Wiley is known for depicting modern-day African-American subjects using the tropes of classical European art. Both Obamas chose black artists who've been praised by Kim Sajet, director of the National Portrait Gallery.

It is hard to wrap one's head around several things here, but what comes across clearly is this: a woman had had an unsatisfactory marriage for four years, but not only did she not walk out of it, she continued to indulge her "husband's" demands and got her family to pay him Rs 8 lakh. I did not register a complaint.
