  • Instagram will Now Notify Screenshot Alerts

Instagram is about to make it harder for users who like to creep on social media.

If you're anxious about people grabbing screenshots of your stories, visit the Stories main page-where you can see a list of public posts-and look for the pinwheel-shaped camera shutter icon next to the name of an account. Not everyone has reacted to this new test feature just yet; but it looks like it will be business as usual for Instagram. The person who posted the story is able to see who viewed it, but not the specific number of times one person may have.

Instagram is testing a feature that will alert users when someone screenshots their story. This will help identify the one who published a story to correctly identify the person who took a screenshot.

Syria wants United Nations to condemn USA 'massacre'
A USA military airstrike has killed over 100 Pro-regime soldiers fighting for the Assad government, against anti-Assad rebels. Reuters reported that regime forces were likely trying to take an oilfield near Khusham, citing a United States official.

And, this is where the camera icon will appear if someone has taken a screenshot of your story. The message is clear: users want to Insta-stalk their friends, family, and followers in peace.

Despite its popularity with its users, Snapchat has been struggling, being overshadowed by competitors like Instagram, who have unapologetically borrowed some of its features for its own use. If you thought this was the end of it then you're wrong.

Instagram is slowly rolling-out the new functionality to users worldwide. It's a little less obvious than Snapchat's notification, but it still has users divided over the usefulness of the feature.

S. Korean president hosts lunch for Kim Jong Un's sister
It wasn't until this week that the world learned Kim Yo Jong would join her nation's Olympic delegation. Some of the expansion, however, was just so NBC could show more USA athletes.

It's not a global rollout yet - only a test Instagram is conducting on randomly selected users.

Notably, Instagram introduced a similar screenshot feature back in 2016 that provided notification when someone took a screenshot of a private direct message. It will let users share public feed posts from other users to their Story.
