So when she one day addressed her family with a British accent, despite spending her life in Texas and Arizona, everyone took it as a joke.

In this current episode, however, the British accent has persisted for about two years, she said.

Myers, who said she also suffers from Ehlers-Danlos, a condition that makes skin elastic and joints flexible to the point of dislocation, is now seeking treatment for her rare condition, with the hope of being cured.

It was proven that Myers is not insane nor is she faking her changing accents. Michelle Myers was diagnosed with foreign accent syndrome.

3 dead, 4 injured in Grand Canyon chopper crash
In the Grand Canyon , Arizona , three deaths and over four injuries have been caused in a crash of a tourist helicopter. Bradley said rescue efforts were still ongoing late Saturday and three of the four injured have yet to be flown out.

When Myers speaks, "everybody only sees or hears Mary Poppins", she told ABC news affiliate KNXV.

It turns out Meyers suffers from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), a disease that Ehlers-Danlos Support UK defines as "a group of thirteen individual genetic conditions, all of which affect the body's connective tissue". Her family, including her seven children, helped her.

It's not the first time that her accent changed overnight.

After eight days, during which she hid at home, feeling self-conscious, Michelle's voice returned to normal. She's now trying to find treatment for the condition. In one case, an American started to sound Russian. This alters the way the person speaks (the rhythm and tone, for example), causing their speech to sound like a foreign accent. Multiple sclerosis, neurological damage, or underlying health issues can also cause FAS. After about a week it seemed to correct itself on its own, but months later another headache brought about an Australian accent. In 2016, Lisa Alamia from Texas found her accent has changed to British after waking up from a jaw surgery.

Tearing into Modi's claims on development, Rahul advised the PM to learn from Chief Minister Siddharamaiah on how to run the Government.

As she watched a video of herself speaking normally with ABC, she stated that "I'm sad..."

"For most people with the condition, it's caused by a brain injury or a stroke, but all my MRI scans came back clear", she said. Several other sufferers of Foreign Accent Syndrome have captured worldwide attention in recent years, such as 48-year-old Terri White from Yorkshire in Northern England. She felt like a different person and it took her some time to define her identity.

The most prominent case of foreign accent syndrome occurred in Oslo during World War II.

"The person I am now has been through so much, compared to the person here". "And if I say unusual things like 'I'm just going to the loo, ' it's really weird, as I sound just like a Brit".
