Following his resignation from HTC, Chang told the press that he is planning to set up his own artificial intelligence company after the Lunar New Year holiday, having come to recognize the importance of AI in industrial development. One would have expected the company to have quickly arranged for a replacement once it found out that Chang wanted to leave but that doesn't appear to have been done so far. The bottom line is, Chang is out and HTC, at least for now, is not replacing him. Over the past couple of years, he's been at the helm of HTC's switch in design language with the U Ultra and the U 11 variants. The handset should then go on sale sometime in March or April, competing at the high-end segment of the smartphone market. It will be a dual-camera flagship phone by HTC.
