  • Mahrez has not trained since his deadline day move to Manchester City fell through

The 26-year-old midfielder has not played for the club since a move to leaders Manchester City fell through during the January transfer window.

As Leicester City prepare to face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this Saturday, there's obviously one subject getting most attention from the European press.

Mahrez is said to be very low after the collapse of his transfer to City and there is a suggestion he has been out of the country.

With City refusing to meet the demands, any chance of a deal disappeared, sending Mahrez into a sulk that has already seen him miss games against Everton and Swansea. However, this move didn't happen and Mahrez stayed at the King Power Stadium.

And the winger wants the club to guarantee he can leave this summer before he decides to return to training.

He wants the club to provide an assurance that they will not stand in his way if (Man) City, or anyone else, want to sign him.

Ryan insisted he's committed to bringing an immigration bill to the floor, but said it must be one that President Trump will sign. Ryan needs Democrats' help to pass the spending bill because his conservative wing, including the Freedom Caucus, is balking.

Of course, that update may upset Leicester fans.

However, it would appear Leicester are resigned to losing Mahrez and have begun their search for his replacement.

The use of the word "depressed" has placed Leicester in a hard position, as they are reluctant to be seen as taking a hard-line stance on Mahrez's behaviour if it is proved he has a genuine illness.

"He is a magnificent player and he enjoys his football".

Instead, his attention now turns to Real Madrid forward Isco, who Man City have tried to sign a few times in the past, the MEN claim.
