Best Buy told music labels that it will pull CDs from its shelves on July 1.

According to Billboard, Best Buy only generates about $40 million annually from CDs. That means Target would only pay labels for CDs when customers buy them, rather than buying the CDs in bulk and paying for shipments of unsold CDs back to the label for credit.

With this news, it looks like retailer Target is also looking to lessen the impact from its physical media department in stores by demanding that it only pay for units that are sold.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday said while addressing AJK Legislative Assembly that Kashmiris are not alone, 200 million Pakistanis stand by them.

In addition, Target reportedly wants to change how it acquires CDs from major labels.

At its height Target carried upwards of 800 music titles but has whittled that down to less than 100 in most locations, the magazine reported. One music manufacturer is leaning towards saying no to this deal, according to Billboard. For example, a year ago Target moved 500,000 copies of Taylor Swift's latest, Reputation.
