  • Father Of Abused Gymnasts Attacks Larry Nassar During Sexual Assault Trial

The enraged father of three young women who accused Larry Nassar of sexual assault, attempted to attack the disgraced former sports doctor during a sentencing hearing in a MI courtroom. Margraves had to be wrestled to the ground and handcuffed to prevent him getting to Nassar.

Later Margraves and his attorney were brought back in the courtroom so Judge Cunningham could address the contempt of court.

The time for victims of Larry Nassar's sexual abuse to come forward publicly in court has ended, with 204 people speaking in two counties over nine days.

He said he didn't know what his daughters would say during their impact statements and lost control of his emotions when he saw Nassar shaking his head, as if to disagree with part of the statements.

"I'm embarrassed. I'm not here to upstage my daughters", he told the judge.

OPEC January oil output rises despite Venezuelan decline
Output from the Gulf of Mexico surged and North Dakota, where most of the Bakken shale lies, pumped the most since August 2015. Crude for March delivery rose 18 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $64.91 a barrel after ending the last session up 0.4 percent.

"If it is hard and difficult for me to hear what his daughters have to say, I can not imagine what it is like for a parent", the judge said. A statement from Morgan Margraves, his third daughter, was read at Nassar's sentencing in neighboring Ingham County last month.

Nassar had been accused of molesting girls, including Olympic gymnasts, while providing medical treatments for USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University. "She (the victim) will come out and tell you this".

Judge Janice K. Cunningham immediately interjected: "Sir".

Margraves then bolted towards Nassar, seated in an orange jump suit behind a nearby table.

"I failed my own daughter", Lynn Erickson said tearfully in court on Friday, as her daughter Ashley, one of Nassar's victims, wiped away tears.

Not enough seals for Polar Bears to survive

While she understands how sensitive this situation is, she reminded the court that Nassar is here to be sentenced for the crimes he committed, because that's what the justice system allows. "Would you give me one minute?" "We cannot react by using physical violence", she told the courtroom, noting she could not imagine Margraves' pain as a father.

"As a mother, I have an important message also", said Lynn Erickson, mom of Ashley Erickson.

"They're basically saying, 'Hey, I'm bigger than this". However, since no legal expenses are necessary, Pangborn says he and the Margraves will find a worthy charity donate the money to help victims of sexual abuse. "This is letting [Nassar] have power over us". "Our job as parents is to protect our children", said her mother Lynn.

The tough questions she endured from Nassar's lawyers at a preliminary hearing, before he pleaded guilty to molestation, only strengthened her reluctance. This case focuses on his work at Twistars, an elite gymnastics club southwest of Lansing. He's already been sentenced to up to 175 years in prison on the charges, and another 60 years for child porn charges.
