Vaping Could Cause Cancer and Heart Disease, New Study Suggests

  • Vaping Damages DNA and Increases Lung Cancer Risk In Mice

Vaping might increase the risk of cancers and heart diseases, a new study has found.

The lung and bladder cells that were exposed to nicotine turned into tumor tissue more easily. He also points out that e-cigarettes and vaporisers are both implicated by this research: "As long as nicotine is in the vapor, vapor would have the same effect as E-cig smoke".

In the case of "smokers using electronic cigarette to quit smoking, vaping offers a way to reduce smoking that affects health", he continued. Norman states, "this study shows us that e-cigarettes should work as part of a supply reduction strategy; increase the price discrepancy between tobacco to harm reduction products like e-cigarettes, decrease tobacco availability and increase harm reduction options". Research like this is important, but this lab study only looked at the effects of e-cigarette smoke on cells and on mice, which means it's not possible to draw any conclusions from this about how e-cigarettes might affect people in real life. "But the trend was still there - something in the e-cigarettes was definitely causing damage to the DNA". "Nicotine with e-cigarette solvent caused the same damage as nicotine alone".

The news comes after researchers tested the effects of e-cigarettes on mice, and human lung and bladder cells.

Nikkei also notes that the inventory for the iPhone X is "starting to rise", after a period of shortages. The 2018 iPhone X will come with a 2800mAh battery, versus the 2715mAh from previous year .

The next step of the research is underway, in which mice are exposed to nicotine and e-cigarette vapor long-term to see if they actually develop cancer or heart disease, Tang added.

The Chicago Department of Public Health said Monday that according to its Healthy Chicago report 6 percent of Chicago high school students reported smoking cigarettes in 2017.

"We just can not guess with the data we have", Tang said. Nicotine inhaled from e-cigarettes could be converted into chemicals that damage DNA in the heart, lungs and bladder, according to the study.

"Here we've got e-cigarettes versus nothing at all, and that's where it gets tricky to talk about the broader public health impact", said Alberg. On the other, there are those who say that vaping's risks are unclear and might still rival that of traditional smoking. "It doesn't show that vaping causes cancer".

Concentrations of light inside a base may indicate where troops live, eat or work, suggesting possible targets for enemies. The Post added that other journalists on Twitter were also weighing in on what they identified to be US military bases .

'In terms of safety, e-cigarettes are likely far closer to nicotine replacement therapy (NRT). In a new study, scientists warned that nicotine in e-cigarettes could convert into DNA-damaging chemicals.

The 600-page report by America's National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (an independent government body) says that smokers who switch to e-cigarettes will benefit.

Last week a major U.S. report into the health effects of e-cigarettes found that vaping might be useful to help people quit smoking.
