  • Deaths of Barry and Honey Sherman a double homicide: police

The deaths of Toronto billionaire Barry Sherman and his wife Honey in mid-December were a targeted double killing, Toronto police said on Friday.

Gomes said both were found dead by a real estate agent on December 15 in the lower level pool area of their North York mansion, hanging by belts from a poolside railing.

They were bothfully clothed and wearing coats pulled down over their shoulders. Media reports initially said there were no signs of forced entry into the house and police had said they were not looking for any suspects.

Teva said it learned of the alleged breach from a former Apotex employee and launched an investigation that found emails sent from Sandhu to Desai from her work computer.

Police refused to discuss any information about possible suspects.

The company subsequently suspended withdrawals in all forms of digital currency as well as in yen. NEM, or New Economy Movement, launched on March 31, 2015 with the currency symbol XEM.

Det. Sgt. Susan Gomes, of the homicide squad, said thousands of hours of investigation have led police to that conclusion in a case that has grabbed public attention both for who the high-profile victims were and the mystery surrounding how they died.

"This conclusion was expressed by the family from the outset and is consistent with the findings of the independent autopsy and investigation", said the statement released shortly after Friday's police media update.

Toronto police were seen leaving the Sherman household Friday morning, taking down yellow tape from the crime scene.

So far, 127 witnesses have been interviewed, but the list of people that detectives still need to speak with is growing, she said. She said she understood their concerns about the pace of the highly complex probe. Officials first thought it was a murder-suicide, but their family disagreed, and they hired a team of lawyers and private investigators.

Sherman had an estimated net worth of 4.77 billion Canadian dollars (3.71 billion U.S. dollars), making him Canada's 15th richest person.

What will the clones be used for? The Scottish Council on Human Bioethics warned the research "opens the door" to human cloning. Investigators say the researchers followed global guidelines for animal research set by the National Institutes of Health.

Mr Sherman was known for litigiousness and aggressive businesses practices as he developed Apotex Inc., which has a global workforce of about 11,000. He was also considered among Canada's richest people.

"They hate us. They have private investigators on us all the time, trying to investigate".

"There was absolutely unequivocally no way that [Mr Sherman] would hurt his wife, and hurt his grandkids, his family and his reputation", he said.

"For a $1,000 paid to the right person you can probably get someone killed".

The couple - who were reportedly worth $4 billion - had stalled on building a new home while they only donated $66,000 to charitable causes in 2016. "Perhaps I'm surprised that hasn't happened".
