During a conference call to make the announcement, McMahon noted he is now looking into various ways of airing the XFL, including social platforms, television and more. Hundreds of thousands of football fans have pledged to boycott the NFL because of the league's policy regarding the national anthem.

The notably rotund QB has plenty of time to get down (or up?) to his fighting weight, considering the league isn't set to go live for a couple years. McMahon said the schedule could begin in late January and no cities or TV partners were named.

For example, NBC broadcast an entire National Football League game this season using the SkyCam - a camera suspended from cables that allows the viewer to watch from the view of the quarterback - which was first used by the XFL.

But there is perhaps another explanation why McMahon is willing to try again - US President Donald Trump's disdain for the NFL.

SpaceX conducts Falcon Heavy static fire test
At a conference in July, Musk said , "I hope it makes it far enough beyond the pad so that it does not cause pad damage". Update: In a tweet following today's test, Elon Musk said the Falcon Heavy launch could take place in about a week.

McMahon is aiming for the relaunched product to kick off in 2020.

"People don't want social and political issues coming into play when they are trying to be entertained", he said. We're there to play football.

But despite McMahon's protestations, politics seems to be precisely at the heart of the XFL relaunch. Now it's back for another try, but will it succeed the second time around?

McMahon said it will not affect his WWE role as chairman or creatively at all, and that he thinks the distribution will be a combination of standard and a new way.

Myanmar readies for returning Rohingyas
The government on Wednesday unveiled to the media, including NHK, a pre-fab immigration facility near its border with Bangladesh. It was not possible to independently verify the accounts as Myanmar has heavily restricted access to the area.

"In the XFL, the quality of the human being is going to be as important as the quality of the player", McMahon said.

Conor Orr at Sports Illustrated scoffed that the XFL would be "Alternative Football," characterizing it as "a league that gives us the option of reinforcing our own beliefs and insulating ourselves from the way other people see the world".

With Trump's endorsement, McMahon may finally have another hit on his hands outside the confines of the wrestling ring.
