Tiger Wood makes the cut at Torrey Pines

Jason Day removed fears of a recurrence of his back problems with a sizzling 64 and Tiger Woods made the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines today.

He was steady, and at times spectacular. Woods left himself two feet for par, made the putt and kept his hopes alive of making the cut with three holes remaining. The longest of his birdie putts was from just inside 2 feet.

Palmer finished eagle-birdie on the North Course at Torrey Pines for a five-under 67, taking him to 11-under for the tournament.

This was Woods's first PGA Tour event since last year's Farmers, where he missed the cut, and only his third since a tie for 10th at the 2015 Wyndham Championship in North Carolina.

If Rahm successfully defends his title, he will be the new world number one at just 22-years-of-age.

Woods birdied two of his final three holes to make the cut at the Farmers.

The women's ice hockey squad will include 12 players and one official from North Korea alongside 23 South Korean players. Meanwhile, state media in North Korea has published a rare call for unification, but the statement also makes a demand.

Woods got back to one shot below par to open his Back Nine on the first hole and back to even on the day on the 14th hole.

It was a taste of things to come, and Woods had to settle for par after that.

Now ranked 205th in the world, Palmer's success this week can be attributed to his ability to hit the fairway (71.4 percent driving accuracy) and get on the greens in regulation (72.2 percent).

Woods initially returned to competitive golf after a 10-month absence at the Hero World Challenge in December, but that's not an official PGA Tour event.

His tee shot on No. 1 went way left and his second shot landed in a greenside bunker. He was amazed to see so many players under par through two rounds. But the one he had last April - the spinal fusion - has so far meant no pain and the ability to swing hard and practice. Before he hit the shot, Nick Faldo said on the Golf Channel telecast that it was a 1-in-20 chance Woods gets it up and down. He is now 10 strokes behind tournament leader Ryan Palmer and is tied for 65th place overall.

Fans lined both sides of the opening fairway in anticipation of seeing Woods, who was playing the PGA Tour for only the second time since August 2015. I'm looking forward to playing a full schedule and getting ready for the Masters and I haven't done that in a very long time.

Myanmar readies for returning Rohingyas
The government on Wednesday unveiled to the media, including NHK, a pre-fab immigration facility near its border with Bangladesh. It was not possible to independently verify the accounts as Myanmar has heavily restricted access to the area.

He missed the fairway (and the green) on the first hole but went on to hit eight.

"I thought it was incredible", he said. Woods raised his putter with his left hand in anticipation as the ball approached the hole, and then spun away in disappointment when it stopped short of the cup. "Hopefully I'll be around for the weekend and be able to compete and play and keep building".

"I hadn't felt good in four, five years", Woods said. "You know, [playing partner Charley Hoffman] came over to me and said, 'What the hell did that thing hit?' It looked like it hit ice".

And he's feeling similarly good vibes going into the third round.

"We play so much golf all year".
