Yosemite's concessionaire, Yosemite Hospitality, has agreed to stay open.

CBS19 visited the Rockfish Gap entrance on Saturday, to find no park rangers manning the pay station.

"The majority of employees signed a form today and were sent home", Gediman said.

Officials at Alcatraz said the island will remain open but there will be no ranger guided tours.

"We were scheduled to open at 9 a.m., but because there was no funding approved last night, we did not open our doors this morning", said spokeswoman Anne Wheeler. "But now we can't see it because of some stupid bill".

The parking lot and rest rooms at Muir Beach are closed because of the shut down. He did note that "the visitor experience will be diminished amid the shutdown", but pledged that "to the degree possible, we will keep our public lands open".

Eisenhower National Historic Site will also be closed during the shutdown. The Yosemite Valley Clinic will remain open.

Despite the lack of services, people still came out to enjoy the national park on Sunday.

Rock Creek Park will remain open for anyone who wants to walk or jog along the trails, even though it's a national park.
