  • Cory Booker slammed for 'mansplaining,' insulting DHS Secretary Nielsen

Booker condemned Department of Homeland Security secretary Kirstjen Nielsen over her failure to criticise Trump's use of the word "sh*thole" when he described Haiti and some African countries.

The New Jersey lawmaker blasted Nielsen's "silence and amnesia" after failing to get the response he sought on her recollection of statements President Trump made in a meeting last week.

"I will just say for the record, Senator Graham spoke up in a way that I respect very much, countering what the President had said about countries in Africa", Durbin said.

"I did not hear that word used - no, sir", Nielsen said after Sen.

Jonny Bairstow 7: Like Hales, Bairstow looked to be on top of the Aussie bowling from the get-go and was looking extremely fluent. Certainly, this looked to be the case when England's pursuit began, even if Roy perished without making a dent in the target.

Asked further about Mr. Trump's talk about wanting more Europeans in the U.S., Nielsen said she remembers him talking about the "concept of underepresented countries as a fix" during a conversation about removing the diversity lottery and reallocating it.

Under persistent questioning, Nielsen said she didn't recall the specific language used by Trump.

"The president hasn't said he didn't use strong language, and this is an important issue", press secretary Sarah Sanders said, "He's passionate about it, he's not going to apologize for trying to fix our immigration system".

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, said he wanted to talk about "two Trumps: the Tuesday Trump and the Thursday Trump" of last week.

Another was a dispute over port security equipment involving a company Melgen owned in the Dominican Republic. Walls declared a mistrial after individually interviewing members of the jury when it remained deadlocked.

"I don't know where that guy went", he said. "We know what happened in Europe when people just did their jobs", said the Senator. The White House meeting on immigration included a bipartisan group of senators including Durbin. What is the worst thing that allows bigotry and hate to proliferate is people who... stand by and do nothing when it's said.

Because the President of the United States gives his opponents insulting nicknames, everyone gets to do it now?

As the firestorm over Trump's comment began late last week, the White House and Trump's National Security Council provided no guidance to the State Department about what to say to foreign countries who were incensed, said a US official familiar with the conversations between the White House and other federal agencies.
