Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced changes to how it will rank the posts, videos and photos that appear in its users' News Feeds, introducing major changes created to put what friends and family have to say first.

Zuckerberg has mentioned that for this year the mission is to "fix" the Facebook, by targeting the abuse and hate content and by ensuring that the time spent on the social giant is well spent and valuable.

Adam Mosseri, whose title is head of News Feed, said in a blog post, "We will predict which posts you might want to interact with your friends about, and show these posts higher in the feed". BuzzFeed News, which built its distribution largely through Facebook, already reacted to the algorithm change Thursday with a Facebook ad prompting users to download the BuzzFeed app before news disappears from the feed. An avid Facebook user, Mr Arvind Konduru, said, "I often missed posts from friends and I thought they removed me as a friend". The goal of the product teams would be to help Facebook's more than 2 billion monthly users find content that will lead to more meaningful social interactions, he said.

Mark Zuckerberg has announced wholesale changes to everyone's Facebook newsfeed.

Zuckerberg says they want Facebook to be a decent product that decent people, like you, want to use. We can feel more connected and less lonely, and that correlates with long term measures of happiness and health.

Below-par Blues held by Leicester
He has been a key player for his side and his 24 goals helped Leicester win the title under Claudio Ranieri in the 2015/16 season. Star man Eden Hazard was starved of service throughout the contest before he was repalced on the hour mark.

There have also been complaints that the news feed - a stream of messages, photographs and videos - increasingly features posts from companies rather than friends. Posts from pages will show up less, and further down in your Feed.

This is the phenomenon where people stop sharing as much information about their personal lives on Facebook, yielding less useful data for the advertisers on whom Facebook relies to make its money.

The only positive thing to come of all of this is that it may open the eyes of our elected officials, businesses and the American people who will now see Facebook for what it is: An unscrupulous media company that needs to be regulated.

As for how this will effect publishers and news corporations such as myself, we should all expect to have a little less internet traffic in the future.

Based on this, we're making a major change to how we build Facebook.

Syrian state media says Turkey helped rebel attack

CFO Dave Wehner has already made it explicitly clear there's no more room in news feed for Facebook to show more ads.

What does this mean for Pages and public content? He also stated that the company started making changes in this direction previous year.

Zuckerberg said he fully expected some "measures of engagement" to decline as a result of the changes. And if we do the right thing, I believe that will be good for our community and our business over the long term too.

Facebook's shift toward promoting conversation plays to the HuffPost's existing focus, Lau said, adding that the media outlet has always tried to foster discussion among its readers.
