  • US firm seals deal to resume MH370 hunt

06 de enero de 2018, 11:07Kuala Lumpur, Jan 6 (Prensa Latina) After reaching a cooperation agreement with the USA private company Ocean Infinity, Malaysian authorities confirmed today a new phase of search for flight MH370, which disappeared in March 2014.

Ocean Infinity said in a statement that the search vessel Seabed Constructor, which left the South African port of Durban on Tuesday, was taking advantage of favorable weather to move toward "the vicinity of the possible search zone".

The Malaysia Airlines jet disappeared in March 2014 with 239 people - mostly from China - on board en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, triggering one of the world's greatest aviation mysteries.

That expanse adjoins the original search zone far southwest of Australia that was identified through satellite analysis of the final hours of the flight, which apparently ended when the plane ran out of fuel.

Tamil Nadu: High Court asks bus strikers to resume services
The government just about managed to operate bus services with a skeletal fleet that AIADMK-affiliated unions were left to run. The minister said, "I appeal to employees to come back for duty, honorable court has also asked them to come back".

The firm, Ocean Infinity, will conduct the search on a "no cure, no fee" basis, which means the company will only get paid if it finds the plane, AP quoted the Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai as saying.

The minister said, "It is our duty to look for answers and the plane".

The bulk of the Malaysia Airlines aircraft has never been found, and in January 2017, the search was discontinued. Ocean Infinity did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

He added that a contract would be signed next week in Kuala Lumpur.

What is a 'bomb cyclone' and what will happen when it arrives?
Snow, sleet and freezing rain may increase in eastern North Carolina and southeast Virginia by Wednesday afternoon. Forecasters are calling the process causing these low temps in Florida a "Bomb Cyclone " or "Bombogenesis'".

Malaysia's government said Saturday it had approved a bid to resume the search.

The vessel is carrying several autonomous submarines which can be launched from the boat to scour the seabed for fragments of the jet.

But a report from the Australian Transport Safety Board released later in the year pointed to a new area where the plane could be found.
