However according to the report, it crashed in the city of Tokchon, a city of population of around 2 lakh people and lead to damage to buildings situated there.

The missile was launched from North Korea's Pukchang airfield.

The missile didn't fly higher than 70 kilometers, or about 43 miles, and it crash-landed dangerously close to a highly populated town.

The unpredictability and mobility of North Korea's launches mean the U.S. or its allies would have a hard time preempting such a launch or even knowing where to look for one.

The publication also showed two satellite images taken by Google of the complex, one from October 2016 and one from May 2017.

In September 2016 in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Timberlake mentioned that he was back in the studio. The Friends with Benefits star, removed a piece of Jackson's outfit during his "Rock Your Body" lyrics.

"It's impossible to verify if the incident caused any loss of life and, given the time of day the test occurred and the location of the impact, it may be likely that few, if any, casualties resulted from the incident".

The missile launch went largely unnoticed due to its failure, but concerns were raised in Washington about the risk of an accidental conflict starting in the event of a similar such failure.

The missile crashed within minutes after taking off, in the city of Tokchon in North Korea, damaging industrial and agricultural buildings near the vicinity of the crash site.

North Korea has not been lucky with missiles of late with a string of failures that engulfed the nation.

If true, the report suggests the dangers of North Korean missile tests to countries beneath their flight paths, such as Japan. And there has been times they have done it from heavily populated regions.

North Korea may have accidentally hit one its own cities with a missile, it has been claimed.

The publication published photos posted by the Kim Jong Un regime during a missile launch celebration concert in July 2017.

But more recent missile tests have been more successful and have travelled long distances, with some flying over parts of Japan.

In November a successful Intercontinental Ballistic Missile launch, the massive Hwasong-15 that led Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to label North Korea "a criminal nation", proved Kim Jong-un could reach "all parts of the U.S. mainland", the communist state claimed.
