Some media outlets reported on Thursday that Garner was "brain dead" and had been given no chance for recovery.

Erica Garner, the 27-year-old daughter of Eric Garner, who died after being put in a chokehold by a police officer in 2014, is in a coma after suffering a heart attack on Saturday. Family members gathered together Thursday to be with her in Brooklyn.
