Dana White on Floyd Mayweather to UFC: 'Don't count anything out'

Despite the statement from Mayweather, one thing that UFC President Dana White doesn't want people to do is to count anything out when it comes to the boxer in the UFC.
Zahabi, known for his philosophical approach in mixed martial arts, is all praises for McGregor's physical ability and fighter's mentality. To make matters worse, he hasn't even stepped foot inside the Octagon to compete since November 2016, with no set timetable on when (or if) he will.
"What we have to do, is he needs to defend that [UFC lightweight] title".
The former welterweight champion recently returned after a four-year hiatus and defeated Michael Bisping for the UFC middleweight title.
"Get through the holidays, and hopefully he starts to get the itch to come back and hopefully we can get him back this summer", said White.
"There is no status", White told ESPN. He tried not to do it, but he contractually had to let go of the 145-pound belt.
McGregor became the undisputed 145-pound champion with a stunning knockout of Jose Aldo in December of 2015 but never defended the title. "He fought everybody on his way up 145 pounds".
Instead, White says he's looking to put together boxing superfights (in addition to his UFC duties) involving some of the best pugilists in the world. starting with heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua.
