Rami Malek, who stars as the Queen frontman, complained to the studio about Singer's "unreliability and unprofessionalism", according to the Hollywood Reporter.

While the studio did not elaborate beyond, "Bryan Singer is no longer the director of Bohemian Rhapsody", the decision to fire Singer is said to be due to his repeated failure to show up on the sets of the film.

In a non-physical altercation with Malek, Singer reportedly threw an object.

The basis for this request comes from mounting evidence that a portion of the FCC's 22 million public comments regarding Title II regulations may have been fake.

Singer's firing is just the latest in a series of setbacks for the long-gestating project, which churned through creative talent and prospective stars for years before finally landing Malek in the leading role of late Queen singer Freddie Mercury.

Much like Solo - which was nearing the end of its shoot when Lord & Miller parted ways with Disney - Bohemian Rhapsody only had roughly two weeks before wrapping principal photography. In his absences, cinematographer Thomas Newton Sigel has overseen production.

Denying any clashes with Malek and the cast, he added: "Rumors that my unexpected departure from the film was sparked by a dispute I had with Rami Malek are not true".

Per T.H.R., Singer was "absent during production on several occasions", and did not return to the set after Thanksgiving break. His prolonged absence was the final straw, and so the studio chose to terminate his contract. At one point, actor Tom Hollander reportedly left the project due to Singer's unprofessional behavior, though he was ultimately persuaded to return.

The studio has not announced who will take over as director of the film. Another source said that about two weeks of shooting remain to complete the movie, which may result in the studio turning to a member of the current crew such as Sigel to complete the film rather than bringing in a new director from the outside.

THR claims that a representative from the DGA has been on set to monitor the situation, which has apparently turned so toxic that Singer is said to be suffering from PTSD.

Bogeys on the par-five sixth, par-four seventh and par-four 10th further deepened the gloom. Tommy Fleetwood and Jordan Spieth finished in a tie for third place on 12 under.

Although a new director has yet to be confirmed, the movie is still slated for release on Christmas 2018. Singer, the former "X-Men" director who has describes "Bohemian Rhapsody" as a passion project, has since said he left the U.K. -based production to care for an ill parent in the United States.
