"'Padmavati" has been facing a series of protests from pro-Hindutuva and members of royal family particularly in Rajasthan.

The official December 1 release of the film has already been postponed and several states have already banned it. In the pictures, the note can be seen written on the stone with charcoal.

The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Chetan Kumar by the police on the basis of an Aadhaar card found from his pocket.

In related news, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has cleared Padmavati for screening in cinemas in United Kingdom with a 12A rating. Protests erupted after allegations were made that the film showed relations between Rani Padmini and Khilji.

The film Padmavati tells the story of a 14th-Century Hindu queen belonging to the high Rajput caste and the Muslim ruler Alauddin Khilji.

The movie has been mired in controversies over its release.
