She then became the superhero known as Ms. Marvel, but recently assumed the full identity of Captain Marvel in the comics.

Variety reports that the English actor is now in negotiations to star opposite the Oscar-winning Larson as Mar-Vell, the original Captain Marvel, in the upcoming solo movie for Larson's Carol Danvers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

There's no word on what character Law would be playing but early word is that he would be a mentor of sorts to Larson's character in the film.

Brie has signed on to play Marvel feminist icon Carol Danvers in the feature, who had an Easter Egg cameo in Doctor Strange. Jackson will play (a two-eyed) Nick Fury in the film and Ben Mendelsohn is set to play the film's villain.

The movie will introduce MCU followers to Larson's Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot whose DNA is fused with an alien's DNA after an accident giving her the powers of flight, strength and energy projection.

Law continues to dominate the big blockbusters of 2018 and beyond. He is also still attached to star in a third "Sherlock Holmes" film, which Warner Bros.is now developing.
