Today, former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort was charged in special prosecutor Robert Mueller's Russian Federation probe.
Manafort and his business partner, Rick Gates, allegedly earned tens of millions of dollars lobbying on behalf of the Ukrainian government between 2006 and 2015 without disclosing their work or earnings stashed away in offshore accounts, the indictment said. The indictment against Manafort details a complex scheme, which includes real estate ventures in NY.
In all, the charges filed by Justice Department Special Counsel Robert Mueller claim Manafort laundered $18 million through various goods and services, including purchasing unit 4D at 29 Howard St.in SoHo and 377 Union St.in Carroll Gardens in 2012, according to the indictment.

Two of the properties were in Jessica Manafort and Yohai's names, and one held by "Yohai REI, LLC", a corporate vehicle the lawsuit alleged the couple owned.
He allegedly wrote to his tax preparer weeks before receiving those funds that the influx of cash would allow him to pay off a separate mortgage in full, and Manafort ultimately used hundreds of thousands of dollars from the construction loan to make a down payment on a separate property in California, according to the indictment. Because he could get a bigger loan on the mortgage he applied for if he used the property as a residence rather than a rental, he allegedly falsely told the bank that lended to him that his daughter and then-son-in-law lived there. While the indictment did not give an exact address of the property, NY property records show the condo is located at 29 Howard Street in unit four. It is unclear exactly how much Manafort made by listing the property on rental services like Airbnb. The listing no longer appears on Airbnb's website, though details of the building featured by Sotheby's show it is around 2,150 square feet, with wooden floors, large windows, two bedrooms and two bathrooms with marble features. A bank promised more money for "construction loans" that were to be spent on renovations that would make the property more valuable, according to the indictment.
A representative from Airbnb did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The Carroll Gardens home is one of several the Feds allege Manafort used to funnel unreported money into the country and deceive the United States government.
The former Trump campaign head allegedly accelerated work on the property in the past month to make it appear as if he was using the borrowed money for its intended objective, according to a Daily Beast report. A search of NY property records confirms what appears to be the property in question.
"There is nothing out of the ordinary about them and I am confident anyone who isn't afflicted with scandal-fever will come to the same conclusion", Manafort said.
