Nvidia isn't shy about talking up the specifications.
Nvidia's Drive PX Pegasus computing platform represents a massive leap over its predecessor (the PX 2) and is no less than 10 times as fast, and fully capable of handling a mind-boggling 320 trillion operations per second.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the kit is the fact that the dedicated GPUs it is using are not Volta but rather based on a next-generation architecture. It relies on two Xavier system-on-a-chip processors and two discrete GPUs with a focus on computer vision algorithms and machine learning.

Since the company made the announcement at GTC Europe in Germany, we aren't sure if that means a USA or a European plate, though.
The Pegasus platform also supports Auto grade ASIL D Automotive Safety Integrity Level D which refers to the highest classification of initial hazard (injury risk) defined within ISO. It also comes with controller area network, Flexray, and multiple 10Gbit Ethernet connectors.
The green graphics guys say their system could allow people to reclaim billions of hours lost behind the wheel of a vehicle.
That big speed improvement is integral to developing fully self-driving cars, which require the ability to process an enormous amount of information to determine the appropriate speed and direction of the vehicle. Nvidia claims that machine-driven vehicles could eventually be safer than human-driven cars because AIs aren't distracted, tired, or emotional. "If you live near Singapore one north, the business district where the Grab Taxi/NuTonomy pilot is running, you might, but there'll likely be engineers on board each vehicle monitoring its every move". If you don't work in the purchasing department of a major automotive manufacturer or supplier, the price is probably irrelevant to you.
Graphics-chip maker Nvidia (NVDA) on Tuesday unveiled a new artificial intelligence computer for fully autonomous vehicles, and announced German logistics giant Deutsche Post DHL Group is deploying a test fleet of self-driving delivery trucks next year using Nvidia technology.
